GSIA / GREEN SCHOOLS IN ACTION

Learning Hub

Explore environmental ideas. Build sustainability skills. Bring learning into everyday life.

Discover a pathway for your classroom, your family or your own curiosity, with digital exploration and practical reflection.

Small investigations. Meaningful discoveries.

At home or in a school living lab, everyday surroundings can become a place to ask questions and test ideas.

Families can explore together through simple observations. School communities can use the same approach to plan shared investigations, compare findings and reflect on sustainable choices.

The examples below are suggested learning activities, not reports of completed GSIA projects. Adapt them to your setting and involve an adult where needed.

An adult and two children plant seedlings together in reusable pots.

Observe

Look closely at a plant, a shared space or an everyday habit. Record what you notice without changing anything yet.

Explore

Choose one question. For example: does soil in a shaded pot stay damp longer than soil in a sunny pot?

Act

Agree on a small, safe investigation. Change one condition and keep a simple record of what happens.

Reflect

Compare observations. What can you conclude, what remains uncertain and what would you try next?

Students and an educator compare plant pots and inspect soil in a garden.

Make room for every voice.

Share tasks: one person can observe, another can record and another can ask questions. Use notes, drawings or spoken explanations to share findings.

Respect living things, use materials responsibly and ask permission before making changes to a shared space.

Let one discovery lead to another.

Explore a new format, take an idea outdoors or share what you have learned.
